jan3ll3 Report post Posted March 30, 2015 Hi guys (: I've been wanting to make a mini-holster ever since I saw Wayne Christensen's excellent work in the IFOLG gallery for swivel knife holsters. The floral design on these is just sortof made up from the swampy plants around here in Florida.. I have a lot to learn still for traditional western tooling- It was suggested I use a saddle-stitch and I know I also need to work on burnishing my edges! This is my first holster; I hope u guys find it super-cute!! Lol (it holds my fav. 2 vintage brass swivelknives) *below r process pics & closeups
CowboyDan Report post Posted March 31, 2015 I like it. Is it supposed to fit around something in particular (your arm??), or just hang and look cool holding the knives?
King's X Report post Posted March 31, 2015 Very nice miniature set up! Also, nice pair of vintage Tandy manager sales knives. They will be smooth working forever!
jan3ll3 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 @CowboyDan ~ Lol, thanks (: You could sling it over yourself however & look real awesome anyplace u go, lol @King's X ~ Wow (: That's what they are? Manager Sales Knives from Tandy? Cool !! King's, u know everything (: *I'm also a fan of your blog. I was never sure what the heck they were- the lines looked like Craftool but they were brass and Midas-y looking too...geez. lol. Ya know, I was just being ocd when I hunted them down bc I wanted two with the same yoke handle style- I thought they were beautiful... & used up all my money on them at the time & spent a few days cleaning them up. I designed the holster specially for them too. Thank You for the compliment; I know how much you appreciate your tools & it means a lot.
Pkay Report post Posted April 4, 2015 I guess I could google this but with all the recognising, I thought I should ask what is a 'managers sales knife' ?? Is that like a managers sale carpet, chosen to sell for a short period.??
