what do you mean by 'gusset pattern'? AFAIK, 'gusset' refers to basically a strip between front and back panels, and is typically just a rectangular strip, or in some cases, tapered a bit on the ends.

David, the size of gusset is going to vary depending on project so to find a pattern someone else has for a project you want to do might be difficult. I think you are looking for a formula for figuring the accordion gusset. This thread may help. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=54491

There are several different methods of doing this depending on the style of bag. I suggest buying these books from Tandy. They are very helpful for learning construction techniques.
