leevalley Report post Posted May 2, 2015 Many years ago I remember my dad using hog bristles to sew leather, Also where would one find them, I know this is really old school but I would like to try sewing like this just to see how it works. I know dad had no problems,
bkm Report post Posted May 3, 2015 Al Stohlman details it in _The Art of Hand Sewing Leather_ The bristles are commonly used for brush-making, brushes for all purposes, so it would be easier to find them offered for that purpose rather than sewing. ChuckBurrows Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Look up the Crispin Colloquy http://www.thehcc.org/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi This is a shoemaker's site with lots of info on hog bristle sewing - many today use monofilament line to replace the hog bristles
