Members Gamekeeper Posted November 23, 2008 Members Report Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Some leather cups, for dice games etc What you think? Taken the idea from the German shock cups. Antique tan on exterior with English saddle tan & resolene mix on interior, strangest thing is - they are getting darker by the day. Edited November 23, 2008 by Gamekeeper Quote
MADMAX22 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Looks pretty good, nice and simple. I was looking at making the one from Al stohlmans book "the art of case making vol1" I think it is (Ive got all three). If you get a chance to check out that one give it a shot. Quote

I haven't seen that one. Does it look complicated? My initial idea was to have tapering cups but it was proving to be too difficult. Quote

Well I am not sure how complicated it would be, maybe depending on skill level and stuff like that it may be considered a little complicated. The design is more indepth then yours but the way he lays out the steps to do it and shows everything one step at a time its really not that bad. Im sure you could very easily handle the project. If you ever get a chance pick up all three books in the series if you can. They are outstanding books, a little outdated but the material and techniques are great. Quote

Members Stagdag Posted October 2, 2009 Members Report Posted October 2, 2009 Wow this is really cool, I will have to try it myself! PS--Do you think it would be possible to make lids for them to hold the dice in? PMZ Quote
Members TroyS Posted October 3, 2009 Members Report Posted October 3, 2009 Only one small suggestion... Stitch the top of the cup or it will stretch over time. Once it gets wet (from beer sweat) and you work a 18 pk into the mix, it'll stretch, causing your beer to fall out, thus causing a BIG SCENE down at the brewery! Not to mention, it would be alcohol abuse! One of my first projects from the Al Stohlman "Cases" book series was a dice cup... It turned out pretty good, even though it was one of the very first projects I ever did. Now it sits in my shop as a pencil holder. Why a Pencil Holder and not a "Beer Huggie" you ask?? Simple truth is, I drink whiskey from a mason jar! Quote
