Members deloeracustoms Posted June 30, 2015 Members Report Posted June 30, 2015 So, I stopped by the local Hobby Lobby on Saturday and picked up a basic leather carving "kit", including a swivel knife and some other shiny things? Anyway... I wasn't really thrilled about the idea of getting into carving leather— but after several folks expressed interest in having some carving on their holsters (shameless plug: I make and sell custom leather holsters, see the links in my signature) I decided it would be worth attempting. Well, after my first "attempt" I think I am hooked. There is something relaxing and very enjoyable about it... even though I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. See the attached pic. I don't think my shading is right, and the beveling doesn't look dark enough to me? The whole thing just kinda looks unfinished IMO. Any critique/comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Members oldhat Posted June 30, 2015 Members Report Posted June 30, 2015 I like it, i cannot give any advice as tooling is something i too need to work on. For a first attempt though it looks good to me. Quote
