Members Equiplay Saddlery Posted August 1, 2015 Members Report Posted August 1, 2015 This is my first saddle build. A calf roper on a Timberline TM Roper tree That I built for myself. A friend who is a saddle maker mentored me in the process. About to start my second one that will be a ranch saddle but I thought I'd put this one out there for a little critique. I works great in the roping pen and my horse loves it. My backside does too. Quote
rktaylor Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Congrats on finishing the first one. It looks nice. I like the laces on the back of the swell cover, but would like to see a few close up photos. I'm always looking for ideas to copy. Randy Quote
Members Equiplay Saddlery Posted August 2, 2015 Author Members Report Posted August 2, 2015 I'm not a great photographer Randy but here are a few more. There were some things I did, like the rear latigo keepers because I don't like regular billets on a roping saddle. I feel like I get better adjustment with the full tie strap. I also put small d rings on the back conchos because it does occasionally double as a trail saddle. Quote
