This is my first saddle build. A calf roper on a Timberline TM Roper tree That I built for myself. A friend who is a saddle maker mentored me in the process. About to start my second one that will be a ranch saddle but I thought I'd put this one out there for a little critique. I works great in the roping pen and my horse loves it. My backside does too.

Congrats on finishing the first one. It looks nice. I like the laces on the back of the swell cover, but would like to see a few close up photos. I'm always looking for ideas to copy.

I'm not a great photographer Randy but here are a few more. There were some things I did, like the rear latigo keepers because I don't like regular billets on a roping saddle. I feel like I get better adjustment with the full tie strap. I also put small d rings on the back conchos because it does occasionally double as a trail saddle. post-52418-0-24752200-1438533978_thumb.j
