Texbowhunter316 Report post Posted August 22, 2015 I have a couple of question on the double loop and I hope I can describe them well enough. If not, I can take a picture. 1. Can you do the double loop on an inside corner as in if I were lacing down this L and then start to the right and continue on? 2. Can you just abruptly end the double loop? I have gone around something {wallet} and undid a loop where I started and tied it in that way but was wondering how to end it if you just get to a point and stop. I want to do a wide watch band that tapers down for the buckle and figure its not going to buckle very well with lacing around where the buckle attaches so I was thinking about stopping the lacing at some point that would be under the wrist but still allow the buckle to be without lace. Thanks
Halitech Report post Posted August 23, 2015 I've seen it done on roper (long) wallets with a snap but never pad attention to if they skipped holes or not so yes, it can be done, just not sure on the exact steps certainly you can, just go as far as you want then what I've done is slide the extra back in under the braid. Not sure if that's the proper way but it worked. I'd look at mexican round braid though myself, it "hugs" the edge better so it doesn't add as much width to the finished product
Wild Bill46 Report post Posted August 23, 2015 As Halitech says look into mexican hand braid first, before you make a decision as to which lacing style you want ! Both Mexican and Double loop can start and stop as you please ! As long as you keep this in mind when starting ,do it then . and when stopping do that end then. hope it turns out well for you. ----- Wild Bill46
Texbowhunter316 Report post Posted August 23, 2015 Thanks for the tips guys...I think the round braid looks better but its a little intimidating. I'm going to give it a try though.. I will have to do some serious research on it .
Halitech Report post Posted August 23, 2015 once you figure it out, it's actually no more difficult then double loop lacing this really helped me http://www.kingsmerecrafts.com/page100.html
Texbowhunter316 Report post Posted August 24, 2015 That link does help Halitech, thanks. I need a piece to practice on I guess. I have the band made now and its ready to lace but I am a little hesitant. so in off to practice.
