Members MrMykull Posted September 2, 2015 Members Report Posted September 2, 2015 I am currently at a VA facility working on myself and it so happens that they have a pretty decent leather shop. I have done a variety of small projects; belts wallets, dop bags, book covers, etc., but a fellow here asked for something I just can not say no to. A US Marine veteran, recently back from overseas has a service dog in order to assist with his PTSD. He has a "standard" vest with blaze orange and reflector stripes but he wanted something a bit more personal. He is asking for me to make this vest and be able to Tool in the dog's name, the USMC logo, and some other designs. The tooling is not an issue and neither is producing tooling patterns. The problem is coming up with a basic vest/harness pattern in order to start. If anyone could point me toward a good resource, give me some advice in regard to adapting a garment vest pattern for use, or would like to take a stab at it please feel free. The dog is a medium size lab mix approx. 65-80 lbs Thanks Quote
Thor Posted September 3, 2015 Report Posted September 3, 2015 I have seen some on Google Documents recently. I believe my search phrase was "service dog harness" and led me to i. e. http://www.google.de/patents/US7281363. Other than that, you could use the current vest as a reference and build one from scratch. Quote
