  1. That could really be misunderstood :-D
  2. Mike had all the donuts, the dog ate all the icing and the holes have no calories just like kleenex. Can I get a cinnamon roll then, please?
  3. That explains it. Hope you gave one to Nat at least.
  4. So @Johanna said there are coffee and donuts on the table here. I found the but where are the donuts?
  5. These have been ordered by a customer from Austria. He's sent me 2 pictures and wanted the horse tooled on the fenders including the horse's name. With only a couple of days time for everything, they turned out okay. Surely not my best work, but he was totally stunned and is happy to have one of a kind present for his wife's birthday.

That's a good question. I don't have an answer to this. I'll just re-link it from my fb page.
  8. Welcome and say hi to the Thompson for me.
  9. What a difference from your first to your third and I liked your first a lot already.

  12. Best would be to get a book for Sheridan tooling or to get some of the Stohlman books. At this point I don't want to spam you with suggestions and limit it to this one advice only: "Only cut as deep as you will bevel and bevel as deep as your cut is."

Thanks Rudi. Just don't drink too many beer. Keep in mind they're not like the American beer-water stuff of which you could have 10 or 12 without feeling anything.
  14. And you are not gluing the shearling in place prior to stitching because you feel it's easier this way, or why do you choose to do it this way?

  16. I'm sorry for this silly question, but I'm having absolutely no idea what you want to say by that: Could you please explain further?

They certainly are, at least for me. I'll get them nailed sooner or later though.

Thank you all Glad if you like it. Not really flawless, but I was able to make them less obvious. Guess that's part of the art. Shading is a pita and matching colors with just dye is really not as easy as I have thought. I did have some great inputs during the making from some of the greatest artists there are including Peter Main whom I can't thank enough for his pointers and helping me overcome some painting fear. If you haven't bought his books yet, it's well worth it. LOL let's put it that way. If you don't complain and say you're loving it, that is already positive The eyes are acrylic and it is was the part I hated the most. Facial expressions are tough. The glove was about the simplest part on this. There's a plug to have it stand out more. @immiketoo Thanks buddy. Same for you. Luckily not in the same group @kiwican Not really magic, just some great help, from great artists of our leather community/world. Upped the game in the last few weeks with some pointers and feedback by people like Mike, Tony, Peter, Maggie Cui and watching what others do and I do different or wrong.
  19. @retiredranger not just a few people in the US have been trained by George http://uksaddlery.com/. People worldwide are going to him and being trained in saddlery. Let me know if you find a better English master saddle maker than @gmace99 teaching beginning saddle makers. Saddle makers of some of the biggest brands in the US have been trained by him.
  20. This is my contribution to the Prescot Leather Carving Contest this month. Just wrapped and gone into the mail.
  21. Glad to read that you didn't take that comment as an offense and you actually learned something from it.
