Members wlg190861 Posted October 8, 2015 Members Report Posted October 8, 2015 I was just wondering if anyone has made a purse out of upholstery leather. I have a few patterns but don't want to cut the hide if this is to thin, 2/3 oz. Sounds like a stupid question but I don't know. What is the most common thickness of leather used in purse making ? dirtclod Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 No I never have. But I think it will fine. After all I see purses made from cloth and they seem to hold up fine. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
Thor Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Recommended leather thickness for purses is 1 to 3 oz. and 4 to 7 oz. Depending on style/size and use of course. Quote
