Timo Report post Posted November 18, 2015 I don't usually use craftaids but my wife insisted on a Tandy craftaid with a horse head. Anyway my problem is the dotted lines. Its says not to carve the dotted lines but to use a modeling tool. No matter what I try it seems to leave the dotted lines. Does anyone know how to work these dotted lines properly? Thanks in advance for any help Timo
Northmount Report post Posted November 18, 2015 Make sure the leather is cased properly, then apply a little more pressure. Some lines you may want to bevel with a figure carving stamp / beveller like the crafftool F895 (there are smaller and larger versions). Tom
Timo Report post Posted November 18, 2015 Thanks Tom. I had thought about using a beveller but thought maybe I was missing something because it said to use a modeling tool. Will give it a try thanks.
Chief31794 Report post Posted November 19, 2015 On dotted lines, I normally use a modeling tool with a small ball on the end, then I eradicate the dotted line with a smooth depression from the ball end, works for me. Depending on the item, I then sometimes use a small spoon modeling tool to psuedo bevel one sie or other of the drawn line. Chief
Timo Report post Posted November 19, 2015 Thanks Chief. Maybe I'll try that first. I can always bevel over if it doesn't come out right. Much appreciated for the help.
