carr52 Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 I'm working on a reata/rope thing and was wondering if I need to stop braiding and roll it every couple feet or should I just do it at the end? Not sure how long it will end up being but I think about 25 or 30 feet long. Tom Quote
Members rawhide1 Posted December 7, 2008 Members Report Posted December 7, 2008 Tom I haven't braided a reata yet. But I would wait until I was done. And then I would pull it though a rounder or a post with a hole in it. Just my .02 Mike Quote

I've been stopping every 2 or 2.5 ft and rolling it like I did with my bull whip. It works really nice but is kind of a pain in the butt. Thanks again, Tom Quote
Members Alan Bell Posted December 7, 2008 Members Report Posted December 7, 2008 In order to be as consistent as possible you should braid as much as you can in one setting and you should do all of your finishing i.e. rolling, stretching, rubbing or pounding AFTER all the braiding is done.
