Just finished another holster

I just finished this one and changed the design a little bit and I didn't dye it I just sprayed some sealer on it. I'm getting the hang of the sewing machine a little more but it's still difficult to sew are corners and get it straight. I'm having<center>

I bought the Artisan 3000, and believe me I'm like a bull in a china store with it.

you sure can't tell by the looks of that holster. Of course my eye is not what you would call trained, but looks good to me.

Thanks for the comments. I ordered some black thread and I'm going to use a little smaller thread for the backstitch also. I was also thinking about ordering some drum dyed leather so I could just finish the holster and have it look a little better, does anyone know if it's worth it or not. I tried dyeing a couple of them and the only good thing is their concealable holsters because the way they looked dyed was pretty scarey.

What weight thread did you use this time? I like 277 for both, personally, but a lot of guys use 346 for the top and 277 for the bottom (some use 346 for both).

I've never used the drum dyed stuff before but I've been tempted to. How did you apply the dye that it turned out so scary? Post a pic if you don't mind, and remember the leatherworker's universal rule for botched dye jobs, as well: "It's black, and that's the way I designed it!".

I'm actually using 277 for both right now but I planned on using 277 and 207. It seems like the backstitch is too thick but obviously I'm wrong. Do you think I would have a problem using 277 and 207?

It looks fine to me, but I am definitely no authority on sewing machines. You probably should start a thread in the sewing machie section and ask some of the pros.

Very nice, as has been stated already I too see a definite improvement, look like I have a lot of catch up to do!
