bruce johnson Report post Posted January 3, 2016 Good guy. Matt has been in the leather business a long time in a partnership or two before he started Maverick a few years ago. Recently moved from CA to Oregon. Talk to him and tell him what you need and he'll do his best to get the right stuff the first time.
l2bravo Report post Posted January 3, 2016 Thank you very much Bruce! I use a lot of exotics (I make shotgun shell bags), and they seem to have a lot of good stuff at very reasonable prices. I appreciate your endorsement. On a side note, I have only been here, and into leather working for a short while, but man, this is an awesome place for info. mireland Report post Posted January 5, 2016 I've bought a few sides from them and am looking to buy more...I've been very pleased with their service and quality of leather. Granted, I too am somewhat new to the craft so I have not seen loads of leather come across my table like many others here.
l2bravo Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Mireland, what kind of sides did you buy? I just ordered a bunch of cayman from them. I talked to Ryan on the phone. He was really nice, knowledgeable, and helpful.
24VOLTS Report post Posted January 15, 2016 Has anyone tried George Barta Hide Co in Petaluma ? They don't have a website and the place seems a bit questionable when I google it? Thanks, Phill
