Members BeUnico Posted February 7, 2016 Members Report Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) Hi I found this forum today and I'm amazed by the amount of information found here. I've only recently discovered that I am fascinated by leather craft, thanks to some Bruce Cheaney videos on leather tooling that I came across on YouTube. I've bought a small amount of basic materials but I opted for an easy project that didn't involve tooling as a first attempt. I made a small pattern based on a wallet he already had, the used 5 oz and 3 oz leather to make it with. I'm making this wallet for my husband, just needs stitching now ( as soon as I've completed my stitching pony). Not in the least perfect , and I'm sure the 'shiny plastic' look isn't everyone's choice, but I'm quite pleased with it up until now. I am very eager to learn more thanks to your help! Btw I'm from the UK but I live in Italy, married female hitting 50 this year Edited February 7, 2016 by BeUnico Quote

Members Tugadude Posted February 7, 2016 Members Report Posted February 7, 2016 Welcome! Nice examples of work, and there are a number of styles out there. If you like it and he likes it, don't bother with other people's reactions. There are a few areas where convention makes sense but lots of room to express yourself. Again, welcome, I love this forum too. Quote
