I think your friend will be much happier with those JLS patterns than the universal holster (probably the same one sold by sportsman's guide). Good luck with the build.

LOTS of folks have made holsters with those free 1911 patterns.. some of 'em put pics in teh pattern section.

He wants something he can conceal, which is why I think he wants to carry it on his back, upside down like that. Mostly I think he just likes the looks of it.

Is he new to CCW? Because newbies tend to believe that small-of-back carry will conceal best, when the truth is that SOB sucks for concealment.

Heck, my old man still thinks that, and none of us can break him of that idea... You can see his gun printing from a block away. I have video proof.

99.99% of people will get better concealment from a decent strong-side pancake.

Now that this is settled, I'll add my thoughts on small of the back carry. DON'T DO IT!
