Members PJCustomLeather Posted April 1, 2016 Members Report Posted April 1, 2016 I am doing a pair of spur straps and I stained them with a Dark Brown Fiebings Antique Past. Then I tried to put a the Fiebings Resolene on top as a finish. But when applying it with a paint brush it started to smear the color, and blur the lines. What am I doing wrong, or what is better to use. Quote
electrathon Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 Antique is not designed as a stain, it is to accent lines. A better approach would have been feibings dye, clear laq, fiebings antique, tan kote. Ample drying between every cote except the antique and the antique, do that right away, it will help clean up the smudgy mess. Quote
