Working with Alligator skins

Got a custom request for a bag made from alligator skin. I've worked exclusively with leather to this point. Anything I should know about working with these kinds of hides? Thanks in advance!

lay out on hide is #1, hide size, with, length ,consider folds, edges, pattern ,scale direction up down left right,

then work as leather, edges can be difficult as cut scales and fleshy folds require extra attention 

depending how well the hide was fleshed out before and during tanning,  the underside may require evening and work
