Members barbedwireboutique Posted May 10, 2016 Members Report Posted May 10, 2016 Finished up my first bib spur straps. I forgot to bevel the edges, other critique is appreciated! Maybe should add a belt keeper too Quote
Members David8386 Posted May 12, 2016 Members Report Posted May 12, 2016 I think they came out pretty good for a first pair. I don't know about a keeper, it wouldn't be hard to rig up but I would wear them for a while and see if the strap curls too much or catches on stuff first. Thanks for posting them. David Quote
Members cowboycolonel Posted September 19, 2016 Members Report Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) Pretty good for a first pair. If you're going to make more, maybe you'd consider tapering the ends of the buckle strap so that they lay flatter. Also, unless you're going to use a center-bar buckle, you'd want a keeper on the outside of the buckle to tuck it away. Then, just for aesthetics, consider surrounding your carving with a crease instead of a single tick line. It will make a huge difference in the perceived quality of your work.
