Members Windrider30 Posted May 28, 2016 Members Report Posted May 28, 2016 A friend has asked me about leather book binding and as I told her I have only made a couple of leather book jackets so that got me to thinking where can one learn how to bind a book in leather other then just doing a book jacket? Members SamB Posted May 28, 2016 Members Report Posted May 28, 2016 Hello Windrider, See if this video on YT can help you. This spanish artisan shows how to bookbind from scratch. Even if its spanish I'm sure you'll understand Quote
Members byggyns Posted June 2, 2016 Members Report Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) I did a project to replace the cover on a friend's bible. This is the way I went about it. Basically, I used heavy veg-tan leather (8-9 oz.) instead of book boards. I wrapped the whole thing in goatskin. I used fabric glued to the back of the book block to attach it to the cover, along with the end paper / fly leaves. this is the basic style of binding I was using: Here are the pictures of the project: Edited June 2, 2016 by byggyns Quote
