I wanted to try working on a stamp that could be used to make patches. This was my first attempt, and for the most part I'm pretty pleased with the results. At the moment I'm a bit limited on the size of design I can do because of the material that I'm using.

Looking good, Chris. What are you using to actually make the impressions? That stamp's too big for a maul. An arbor press or an hydraulic press?

Also, do you mind haring what CNC miller you are using?

Thanks,

Michelle

Hey Michelle, thanks for the compliment.

I use an arbor press with all my stamps, the ones I make and buy.

I use a benchtop mill from harbor freight that I converted to cnc. Its the same one I use to mill my harp combs.

Built your own CNC mill? You are a "Builder of Stuff" indeed!

I just bought a Harbor Freight mini hydraulic shop press specifically for pressing my maker's mark. My 1/2-ton arbor press just wasn't cutting it for the chrome-tan leather I've been using because I have to keep it under pressure for the impression to hold. Been working great. It also has the capacity to make larger impressions.

Thanks for the reply, Chris.

I thought about buying one of those to. But I may end up building a press. Ive got a 12 ton bottle jack that I'm not using for anything so I thought about using that to build a simple press.
