Hello all. First I want to say I am so very happy to have stumbled into your little corner of the web. It seems to be filled with good people willing to help out and answer questions. I am a noob , a beginner, looking to take that next step from hobbiest to hobbiest that wants to make a few bucks , or at least break even....

So I am looking for a sewing machine, T probably used. I sew thicker leathers (holsters mostly) would love to try messenger bag. Most my leather is 6 to 9 oz. I live in Cincinnati Ohio, So... If anyone know anyone that may have a used HD sewing machine sitting around collecting dust that is willing to part with it to help a noob out, It would be greatly appreciated.  I am looking to spend in the 600 dollar range... Ok, let me know when your done laughing.... I am willing to go higher for the right buy. I am also willing to travel around 100 miles in any direction,. Please let me know. jzavisin@gmail.com... Thank you

Might I suggest you contact Cowboy Bob and see what he has that can help you out.   Or Leather machine company but Bob is closer to you.  Having a dealer is pretty important if you are starting out.    There is a Ferdinand 900B on Ebay that looks good for $1250.00 but in Albany NY.   I would suggest buying from a reputable dealer and there are several listed at the top of the site.  Just my 2 cents.  Ken

+1 on what Ken said...give Cowboy Bob a call...he might have some used machines...at the very least he can give you some good advice on what you need.

By the way, customer service is great at Bob's shop...he is always willing to help.
