This is my nephew Kieran making his first bag.  He has made a dog lead for his dog and a bracelet for his mum.  He asked if he could make a bag.

He has never operated a sewing machine before this bag.

If he gets some strength in his arms I might let him make a saddle one day.

This video shows the pattern and how to make the bag it might be useful to someone,

That little fella is lookin' good! Confident - which is awesome in itself.  Good to see the young ones learnin' and doin' -- not to mention an early work ethic.

The accent is heavy enough it takes me a bit to follow it - but he probly say the same thing about me. ;)  That's one for the leather portfolio AND the family album.

Makes a complete bag, without dragging out a video into a tv series, and made it for his Mum.  Well done, youngster!

I will tell him what you said JL . He did another video that day showing how to make the bracelet. I might post it later.   Then again I can't have him out doing me on my videos.  I think he wants to do some other videos, If I get time I will let him do some. I think it is good encouragement for other youngsters and beginning adults.
