Members Jess Jones Posted October 8, 2016 Members Report Posted October 8, 2016 Hi everyone! Need help here please... I am opening my first custom leather shop and had the idea of doing my outdoor store sign in Latigo leather. Yes, this will be outside but I live in Southern California and the rain is very seldom where I live. Do you think this Latigo sign will hold up and look good after sun exposure and the occasional light rains? Feedback welcome! Especially from the Latigo community if this is a good or terrible idea! Thanks! Quote "Intentionally box yourself into a corner on every project. Then find the courage within yourself to overcome it via the imagination and questions. Stay hungry. Stay curious. Members Norton Custom Leather Posted October 10, 2016 Members Report Posted October 10, 2016 no! leather like skin it has moisture. if the moisture is taken away it cracks, splits then breaks. too much water it slips & breaks. i have dealt with this issue many times with customers who have tried to dry their leather goods. oh i used the wife's hair dryer for only a second. P.I.T.A. to fix. neats foot oil is your best bet in keeping it moist. right off the start use neats foot oil. it will save you. lexon is another great product Quote
