Members Vikefan Posted November 5, 2016 Members Report Posted November 5, 2016 I made my dad an axe sheath the hard way, long distance. I am in Alaska, and my parents are in Minnesota. I had him trace the outline of his Camp Axe (Norlund), and my mom emailed it to me. I then came up with the idea of buying some clay, and making an axe replica from the clay. Once it hardened it shrunk, so I had to add some to get it to the correct (approximate) dimensions as the original. Here are a pictures of the Sheath pattern I designed for the clay replica I made, and the last picture is the finished sheath on the actual axe head that I mailed back to him, that he received two days ago. Please take a look and feel free to critique. Thank you. Quote

Members stu925 Posted November 7, 2016 Members Report Posted November 7, 2016 Love that design for almost any single bit. I did one just like it for an old Germantown carpenter's axe. Very creative making the axe head from clay, good thinking. Stu Quote
