That wood finish looks vaguely familiar :) It looks like you hit the sweet spot and turned out a nice strap. Out of curiosity, you doing a lot of straps?

I made my first guitar strap for my oldest boy for Christmas last year, but left it unfinished, so that he could do what he wanted with it. It turned out pretty well, and got a lot of attention. Been thinking about maybe letting him do some on his own, to sort of help him earn some cash, and maybe, just maybe, keep him busy enough to stay out of trouble. I figure if that doesn't work out, I could always make a belt to whip him with ;)

It hasn't been a bad market, I found a local store who bought 10 off me and another store in BC who bought a few plus misc sales here and there.  Over all I've been happy with them as a product, easy enough to put together and quick enough when people order.

Belts are hard to go wrong with. . . lol

Great job there,

Tell me please how the hell you keep the back so clean when dying the leather????

I airbrush it.  Basically my dyeing bench has parchment paper laid down, then I put down a strip of paper towel, then the project.  Then I hit it with the airbrush.

If I need to be super anal about keeping the back clean I'll cover it with packing tape but I prefer not to do that if I can avoid it because it pulls up the fibers on the flesh side and that makes it harder to slick down again for a finished look.

Honestly it's the single best purchase I've made when it comes to dyeing. Suddenly colours are consistent, easy to apply, no weird results when resoline goes on, and some cool effects are now open to me with Multi-tones.
