I have a phaff 138 zigzag machine and i don't use it for a long time now. So i decide to make an experiment! Make the machine portable! I have already made the wooden case and it's time for a mini motor. I can find many for household machines up to 120 watts. Will be good enough to do minor repair work? Any other suggentions?

Thank you

I'm just an amateur when it comes to sewing machines, but with a gear ratio low enough, 120W would be enough to move a mountain - veeeery slow, but it'll move it. If you use a low gear ratio so the motor doesn't get over loaded I think you should be fine. For "minor repair work" low speed might be what you want anyway.

These mini motors are fix. A simple belt connects the motor with the flywheel and that all. No gears! I believe the motor from a bag closing machine will do the work but don't know if i can use a foot pedal!
