New to Leather Working

Recommended Posts

I am new to leather working and have been working to learn the basics. I have been working on my stithcing as well as my dying techniques and I wanted to post my latest wallet.

Your constructive feedback is greatly appreciated.

Very nice.  Much better than anything I have done...but I just started two weeks ago.

Great job. It looks like you are well on your way.

A few pointers. The thread is a little large for your wallet. Still, a few taps with a smooth rounded hammer on the threads will get them to lay down and give you a cleaner look. Your stitchining is looking great.

Spend some more time on your edges. Was this chrome tanned? If so it takes a lot of intimacy to get a burnished edge.

I'm sure you saw the glitches on the pocket cuts. A little sanding there could straighten them out.

Over all though a great effort. Keep having fun.

That is a whole lot better than anything that I did when i was a beginner.  Keep at it,  experience will fix everything that I could point out.
