Members newbie736 Posted January 11, 2017 Members Report Posted January 11, 2017 I would like to use chicago screws for a biothane granite leash. The strap has 2.5mm thickness so folded will be 5mm. What length of chicago screws will i need? Quote
Moderator immiketoo Posted January 11, 2017 Moderator Report Posted January 11, 2017 Personally, I'd use 4mm and let the screw compress the biothane a bit. Also, I'd lock title the threads. Quote
Members newbie736 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Members Report Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks Mike! A couple more questions.. What if i wanted to hold together 4 pieces? i.E have a double strap of biothane and fold it for the hardware, total thickness 10mm, should i use 9mm or 8mm? Can i use super glue(i already have it in stock) instead of lock tite?(i am not interested in unscrewing it afterwards) Quote
Moderator immiketoo Posted January 12, 2017 Moderator Report Posted January 12, 2017 If you give yourself a few mm of compression, it will hold better and not rattle around, keeping your straps tighter. As for super glue, It might work, but it might not actually harden on the metal, especially if its coated or plated. You could always test that and see if it works. Quote
