bikermutt07 Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 The other night I was browsing Fiebing's site for some color options. There was no chart for the pro oil dyes. I was perplexed. Was it being discontinued? Oh No Oh No!!!! Well after I caught my breath I emailed them and this was their reply. (Referring to my question about pro oil dye being the same thing as pro dye) Thank you for your inquiry. It is the same product as always, just a new name. It is a solvent based dye, always has been, so we wanted to reduce confusion by changing the name. The oil refers to the oils in the dyes and colorants that create the colors but the base of the dye is a solvent like standard leather dye. These dyes tend to be more vibrant in color and more colorfast and resistant to fading. Sincerely, Fiebing Company, Inc. Members cjartist Posted February 6, 2017 Members Report Posted February 6, 2017 Good to know. The solvent is alcohol based in all their dyes then? Quote Check out my Unique Marketing Strategy and see if it might also work for you to get paid for your art.
