Installing speed reducer

Recommended Posts

Can anyone post pictures of how your speed reducer is installed under your table. There isn't much room and wanted to get some ideas about the best way to go about it. I have a juki 1541s if that matters.

How to install your speed reducer, will depend on what your speed reducer looks like, posting a photo of it will make any replies/advice much easier.

Easiest way to do it is placing the reducer where the motor started, and then moving the motor to a new location.   Original belt goes to the reducer, new belt will be decided on where the motor winds up.  If you need to switch sides of belt for access, you can reverse the motor in the controller parameters.

If you don't have room to go backwards, you could mount another cross brace to the legs and go down.

copy and paste this following line ( exactly like it is ) into google

site:leatherworker.net mounting speed reducer

the results will be all the threads that are here on leatherworker.net about mounting speed reducers, many have photos of "how to" mount speed reducers like yours under flatbed machines like yours ( you have servo motor, some of the photos are of clutch motors and speed reducers, but the positioning is virtually the same, give or take a few millimetres ) ..the first two threads on those results will explain how to mount it..with photos..

Btw..using Google ( or Bing or whatever search engine ) like that to find what might be on a site works for any subject and any site..

this part ( with the full colon )like so
site:
tells the search engine to only look on a particular site
next comes the name of the site ( could use any site name that you want to search ) in this case
leatherworker.net
and lastly ( after leaving a space between it and the name of the site ) comes what you are looking for
mounting speed reducer

put it all together
site:leatherworker.net mounting speed reducer

and voila !

I also ran ( for curiosity )..
site:leatherworker.net raccoons

and got a whole bunch of threads from here with the word raccoons in them ..who'd a thunk it ..

Speed reducer I installed went directly in line with the machine and I just had to move the servo motor a little

Got into installed. Once I figured out how I wanted to do it. (With advice from a friend) I cut off one ear for clearance and mounted it in less than 10 minutes. She is super slow stitching now. I love it. I'll upload a few photos. Thanks for the help

No. I cut the bracket that bolts the 3 bolts to the bottom of the table. You can see it in my 3rd picture
