Clintock Report post Posted March 24, 2017 Probably crazy to ask but does anyone have a pattern for a magnum research desert eagle(44 if it matters)? Willing to pay for the pattern.

I've used one of his patterns before and I'll tell ya the man knows what he's doing. Gun fits like a glove. It's for a good friend of mine and I'm reluctant to do it but he's helped me in the past and I'm sure it'll take a side of leather for that missile launcher. I've searched the world wide interweb and zilch. Guess they haven't found a cow that big yet to get that much leather
byggyns Report post Posted March 27, 2017 There are multiple guides for making you own pattern that could help you make your own. With a shooter like that, I doubt he carries or uses it often, so you could ask to borrow it. It should take you an hour or so to make a pattern if you've never done one (maybe longer since that gun has some odd shapes). The key part of patterning is figuring our where to stitch based on your pattern layout (pancake or fold over). After you work out the stitch lines, everything else is added on and doesn't affect the stitch lines by a lot.
Clintock Report post Posted March 27, 2017 That's the deal. That's his pride and joy. Keeps in his truck. (Cost too much for me to do that). He works on pipeline and when he does come home it's only for a day or two and his wife keeps him lined out on honey dos.
byggyns Report post Posted April 10, 2017 Yeah, that would not be the truck gun I would choose, but he gets to do what he wants with his stuff. Good luck trying to find a pattern and/or a blue gun. I haven't seen any before, but I haven't been looking.
Clintock Report post Posted April 10, 2017 Appreciate it @byggyns. I ordered an air soft. Said 1:1 scale so I guess I'll check specs and see how close they are. A little tolerance would be ok but not too much.
Clintock Report post Posted April 17, 2017 Update on this project. The air soft came in. Barrel length was short by 1/8". Frame height was off 3/16". Wouldn't work. Was able to get the pistol from him Friday and got him a holster. Looked a kid in a candy store when he received it. I see several flaws but to each his own. It's a booger because of the somewhat triangular barrel and all the ribs on the slide.
byggyns Report post Posted April 24, 2017 I like the final result, good job.
Clintock Report post Posted April 24, 2017 Thanks man. Wish I'd done a little differently at the trigger guard. Don't like the stitching line
