Members Studio-N Posted May 4, 2017 Members Report Posted May 4, 2017 this is a 1/2 of a wallet back plate I've done before in plastic and the resulting embossing in leather. this was cut into brass. I'm extremely happy with it and it will likely last forever. Kind of timely too with the new movie coming out soon. I'll likely have a facehugger companion piece done this weekend. cheers! It looks great. Just for a little reference, what is a ball park figure on something in this size? Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members Studio-N Posted May 7, 2017 Author Members Report Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) there is 2 hours of work in this plus a good $15 in the brass alone so in the $100 range. kind of tough to compete with the hong kong phooeys. both the alien face hugger are available in delrin for $75 here is the companion piece the alien facehugger. That's cool. And a completely reasonable price. I mean Maker's stamps start around 40-50 bucks. Thanks for the info and good luck with the sales. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!!
