Members Jesleright Posted June 1, 2017 Members Report Posted June 1, 2017 Greetings fellow leatherworkers, I've recently designed a wallet pattern that includes a bar snap for closure. The snaps are from Springfield (which are the same as Tandy's snaps). Difficult to set, and the male part (a ball-bearing soldered onto the bar) broke off of one while i was setting it (i do use the bar snap setter tool). Finding the proper leather thickness for the socket was frustrating, as there are no instructions i could find anywhere on setting them properly. I've searched google, and could not find ANY place other than SLC and Tandy that sell these (and NO place that sells jiffy snaps). Is there really no other source for this style of snap? i could use glove snaps, but that would leave the end of the flap limp. Quote May the Grace and Love of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God, be with you. Acts 4:12Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."NKJV Guess who the first leather worker is! Read Genesis chapter 3, verse 21 ;-)
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted June 1, 2017 Contributing Member Report Posted June 1, 2017 Been a while, but i used to get them at http://stleather.com/2015-p09.html They never update the site, or their catalog either I think. But teh product has always been good -- just call 'em. Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." IF what you do is something that ANYBODY can do, then don't be surprised when ANYBODY does.
