Members Fire88 Posted September 3, 2017 Members Report Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) My first attempt at making a holster. I like the overall fit but I need to tweak the belt clip location I think. With the clip I'm using I. An tuck my shirt in if needed. Any suggestions critique would be appreciated. Members Fire88 Posted September 3, 2017 Author Members Report Posted September 3, 2017 Here a couple more pics, I need to burnish the edges on it. A couple things I want to tweak on it like the placement of the clip needs to be further to the right and the clip attachement needs stitches vertical into the holster as well as the horizontal line. Next version I'll add an extra layer at the opening as a stiffener. Quote
Members Mattsbagger Posted September 3, 2017 Members Report Posted September 3, 2017 How are you marking out your stitching? Are you using an awl or stitching chisels? A marking wheel or even a kitchen fork can be used to mark the stitches evenly. You can also use dividers and "walk" them down your stitch line. Also watch Nigle Armitage and Ian Atkinson videos on hand stitching. Like I said good start though. Quote
Members Fire88 Posted September 3, 2017 Author Members Report Posted September 3, 2017 This one I didn't mark out at all and my awl was too big for my thread size as I forgot my others at the station. I will watch some of their videos. Thank You we all start somewhere. Quote
