Ideas for attaching watches cases to leather

Hi all!

I am starting a project where I will be attaching watch caces to a leather bracelet, and I can't imagine an elegant or clean way to do this.

I thought I could wrap wire through the pinholes where the strap attached, then lead them through tiny grommets to tie underneath the leather. This is all kind of clumsy and adding in another element I don't care for yet.

Any ideas or examples?

I think a picture of the watch and the bracelet or a drawing would help if possible. Is it to dangle or attach like a watch band on both sides?
