Leather knife roll

Recommended Posts

I've got this leather knife roll... The pockets are basically done and the knives fit great. The top portion should fold over the knives. When it's open it rolls just fine. When I fold the flap over the rolling goes all to hell... Any ideas on how to make it work?

I can't picture it in my mind. Can you take some photos of what you mean and post them? That might help others help you out!

It's because the handles of the knives in the roll are thicker than the blade end. When you roll it you will need to readjust as the roll as you go and "work" it into the roll you want

Well done!

I'm a retired chef and kept my knives in a couple of scruffy old canvas or plastic rolls & cases. One of my plans when I retired was to make myself a decent knife roll out of leather or ballistic nylon & nylon webbing, hand sewn as for leather. That was about 5 years ago and I still haven't got round to it

Search YouTube for 'Leather Knife Roll'. There are several videos which might give you some ideas

I think you'd have been better to keep all the hilts at the same level, in a straight line. It would have looked neater, and probably be easier to roll up. Still, if it does the job.......
