KingsCountyLeather Report post Posted November 23, 2017 I purchased a goat skin recently and this is my first attempt at making a wallet with chrome tanned leather. I will keep this wallet for myself, it is a very soft leather and we’ll see how well it wares in my pocket... Any comments and criticism are welcome! thefanninator Report post Posted November 23, 2017 Nice work. I can't quite tell but on the exterior there appears to be a stitching groove. I'd go without the groove (if there is one) and a little thinner thread.

I did try to add a second creaser mark on the inside of the thread but I only have a Tandy type one at the moment and its too blunt so it looks like I grooved it. The thread is an 8mm tiger thread and I agree its too chunky. What thread would you recommend?
thefanninator Report post Posted November 23, 2017 Fil au Chinois is the expensive stuff size 532 or 632. A little more affordable is Amy Roke L55 or L45 Tandy is now selling some thinner hemp thread. It's .55 mm. I haven't used this.
rodneywt1180b Report post Posted November 23, 2017 Beautiful wallet. I actually like the thread. I like the looks of the leather you chose too. Tiger thread also comes in .6 mm if you like working with it. Rodney
