glockanator Report post Posted December 18, 2017 I am working on a rifle sling and am looking for a fairly quick adjust system. Any reason why I shouldn't use a Conway buckle to achieve this?
KingsCountyLeather Report post Posted December 18, 2017 I’m not very experienced... but I made one earlier this year with a Conway buckle and it is working fine.

Did you still use a Chicago screw to hold the sling swivel on?
KingsCountyLeather Report post Posted December 19, 2017 I made two of them for my brother and his son in law, I used the screw in case they needed to adjust it in the future. another time I made a similar sling but it had a more elaborate connection. alpha2 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 I think a Conway is a perfect solution. I've made a couple of slings, but I don't carry slinged rifles for the most part, so if there is someone that knows of a down-side, I'd like to hear it. I've pretty much decided to use one for the next purse strap.
Lobo Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Conway buckles were used on the US M3 and M7 shoulder holsters (circa 1943 to 1980 or so, probably 2 or 3 million produced) quite successfully. No reason why they would not work nicely on a rifle sling.
Treed Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Love them as there are no screws to back out and get lost..... most customers forget to check screws and to add lock tight after adjusting
