Members OLDNSLOW Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 I am not done yet, it will be hand painted then clear coated, it was laser done for the image. Sorry for not rotating. Quote
Members Sanch Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 Looking real good there man I guess you figured the laser out huh? Good job! Quote
bikermutt07 Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 That is cool. Old, but not so slow anymore. Quote
Members Bolt Vanderhuge Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 That looks cool. Have you used it to cut out the actual holster pattern yet? Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted February 27, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 Thanks for the kind words, Sanch yes and no long story, I dunno Mutt, but thanks for the kind words, and no Bolt I know it can be done but haven't done it yet myself. Quote
Members koreric75 Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 That looks awesome, i think it would look awesome with just a nice finish on it. That laser can be tricky and i found you need a good consistent density leather to get the detail and keep from going through some spots... Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted February 27, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 Yes Koreric there are some spots that I thought would be a little iffy but it came out great, but then again when wet forming there is one or two little spots that might be problematic, we shall see. and this is 9oz w/k leather. Members Josh Ashman Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 Very nice! Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted February 27, 2018 Contributing Member Report Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) Now the 'trick' is to adjust where the APPARENT contour in the flag is over the ACTUAL contour in the holster ... Edited February 27, 2018 by JLSleather Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted February 27, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 True Jeff, it might take the next level of lasers that can detect the need to raise or lower the bed automatically with out the need for manual manipulation. It works for me the way it is now, it does offer a next level of ability that I didn't have previously and only time will tell if it has any value to the customer. Thanks Josh for the kind words, my goal was two fold, one just being able to offer it and of course getting people to want and buy more. Quote

I just meant moving the DESIGN so that the "folds" of the flag were over the stitch lines Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted February 28, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 28, 2018 I got ya, in this case most of the stitch lines are going end up taking on some paint where everything will be painted appropriately. Quote
Members JD62 Posted March 1, 2018 Members Report Posted March 1, 2018 That looks great . I don't know that I'd paint it it looks good just like that! Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted March 1, 2018 Author Members Report Posted March 1, 2018 The customer saw another that we had hand painted and that is what drove him to order, and he has already been informed that it would be and is ok with that, Quote
