Members Lee Jr Posted July 4, 2007 Members Report Posted July 4, 2007 Howdy, I would like to know if I can fill a cut along a stitch line with glue and leather shavings like I can with wood 7 if so what type of glue? Lee Jr. Quote
Contributing Member wolvenstien Posted July 5, 2007 Contributing Member Report Posted July 5, 2007 I have not done it, but there was a comversation I think on this board about a saddle maker who would cut hit sew lines, sew it and then glew and hammer the cut closed. You cant see the thread sewn into the leather and has a greater durability against the threads getting rubbed thin and breaking. As for the type of glue... I would try it with leather weld on a scrap piece and then if it didnt work, use the barge contact cement on a scrap... wet it some after applying the gluw and hammer it closed... You try it let us know your results. Mikey Quote
