Members Levins7 Posted May 24, 2018 Members Report Posted May 24, 2018 I have a veg tan milled deerskin that measures 6oz thick but looks and feels like 8/9oz. Would this be suitable for a bag/briefcase? It is pretty pliable and has some stretch to it. I am looking at attempting my first bag for personal use and not really wanting to buy a new side if I don't have to. Yeah, I'm cheap. Thanks for any advice in advance. Quote
Members dirkba Posted May 25, 2018 Members Report Posted May 25, 2018 Levins7, I have used a "pliable" deerskin for my laptop bag and I am pleased with the outcome. It was also my first attempt! The pics are not studio quality, but will give you an idea of the hide "performance" once the project is complete. If you don't like the "saggy" look then you need to use a stiffener or get proper veg tan hide. Hope this helps! Quote
