Members plinkercases Posted August 13, 2018 Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) Made for a big friend who specifically wanted the toe wide open for some reason... I used metal strapping between the layers to reinforce the opening so it would collapse... big fella remember... and that did the trick. Made for his airsoft and worn during milsim action he told me it was the most comfortable he had ever worn so that worked well. EDIT - like the DW post I may have shared this a while ago but was cruising my file sand thought I would see if it stuck to the wall. Edited August 13, 2018 by plinkercases Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted August 13, 2018 Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 Nice, I'm a big fella, looking for a good iwb holster for my xdm hehe. Where does he wear it? I'm a 4-5o clock guy myself. Quote
Members plinkercases Posted August 13, 2018 Author Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 Yes actually 4-5 was his position. I can scan the templates if you wish. Although its pretty straight forward from the pics. Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted August 13, 2018 Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 No sense in going through the trouble haha. I can make the pattern just fine. Where did you get strapping for the stiffener? Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted August 13, 2018 Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 Also, I've only made open holsters, what's the benefit to a closed toe? Quote
Members plinkercases Posted August 13, 2018 Author Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 In this case essentially he wanted mote leather and opening than needed for the XDm so he could shove a longer pistol in there... not necessarily that he didnt want it close. For an IWB I believe a little longer and open toe is more comfortable specially with the square stibby poly guns... OWB I think its a matter of style/design and function... i dont think a feild holster should have an open toe for instance. Just me. That might be a good question for a nrw thread and hear from some of the other more experienced makets. Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted August 13, 2018 Members Report Posted August 13, 2018 That's a good idea. I may have to ask that lol Quote
