rlhornbeck Report post Posted August 15, 2018 Looking for a machine to do canvas and light leather bags, purses and wallets. After spending way to much time (if possible) on this stie and searching the web machines have been narrowed down, but still need some help. The machine will not be used for production work, just fun. My wife loves making purses, I like wallets, and custom canvas bags. What has been found is that we need a light duty cylinder machine. This narrows it down to a few machines. Techsew 2600 Techsew 2700 Techsew 2750 Cowboy 227r Cowboy 7341 Cobra Model 26 What is the difference in these machines or are we looking at the wrong machine? We need some help making the correct decision. Thanks
Uwe Report post Posted August 15, 2018 I'm voting for the TechSew 2750, Cobra 26, or Cowboy 7341. All three are copies of the same original - the Juki LS-341 (the predecessor to the current model Juki LS-1341.) It's a great design and should serve you well. I suspect you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between the three in actual use, other than paint color. Pick a dealer who's close and gives you good vibes. kgg Report post Posted August 15, 2018 All I can offer is that if a cylinder bed machine is what you will do the majority of your work on then invest in a flat-bed conversion top to convert the machine into a flat bed when needed for the other items. If you have dealers close by bring a sample of your work / material and see how they compare. kgg
rlhornbeck Report post Posted August 15, 2018 Uwe and kgg thanks for the input so far. I would love to go try a few machines out but don't know of any stores around me (Greenville, SC). If anyone has some suggestions of where to look that would be great. I was leaning already to the 341 clones, but who has the best support as we will be learning as we go. My wife likes the Techsew 2750 pro so far as it has all the bells and whistles but not sure how much we will use the extras. I know we want a flat bed attachment for it but does someone make one that is better than the factory one that comes in the pro kit? Thanks again
