allcavalry Report post Posted August 20, 2018 I would like some info on starting a leather guild here in Wisconsin. We own our own alterations and leather business and I would like to start a guild to further the interest in leather work. Does anyone have any info on what should be done in preparation of starting one? Thank you for any info.
immiketoo Report post Posted August 20, 2018 Running a guild is a LOT of work. It requires paperwork, a board, Robert's rules and the like. Contact the IFOLG for information on how to get started. They will send you a packet that needs to be filled out and point you in the right direction. Good luck! If you do get one started, I know a lot of people in your area who might be interested. allcavalry Report post Posted August 21, 2018 Thanks immiketoo, I am not a total stranger to boards and meetings, rules, just want to do it correctly the first time. Thanks again for your info. I will see how things go and let you know.
immiketoo Report post Posted August 21, 2018 Cool Then you know what you're getting yourself into. I looked at starting a recognized internet guild with my FB page a while back, but I chose not to for a variety of reasons, some of what I listed above. A physical guild will be easier to manage all the way around.
