Where is the best place (value) to buy sides for good quality leather belts used for concealed carry. Weight & type. And when buying this product do you need a splitter to have uniformed thickness?

Thanks for your help.

Tom, the best place (I think) is Wickett and Craig - American tanned leather. You can get info from their website. I'd go with the 9/11oz bridle leather, and the leather comes finished and ready to use - no need to level for uniform thickness. There are quite a few other places you can try as well - Zack White carries a nice quality bridle leather as well - from Mexico.

Can you dye bridle leather, or are you stuck with the color that you purchase? Also, can bridle leather be wet formed?

It doesn't re-dye that well, but you can get it a darker color than the original. it has a lot of wax in it which prevents the dye from absorbing well. You can wet form it to a degree if you really soak it in very warm water, but not as well as veg tan, of course.
