Members bdpeters Posted October 5, 2018 Members Report Posted October 5, 2018 Hi All. I have seen both granite and quartz slabs for sale and was wondering what the differences, Pro's and cons. I have not used either one as I have a couple of old marble slabs from my dad that i use on top of a hard rubber mat. is one better than the other or better for certain things? thank you. Quote
bikermutt07 Posted October 5, 2018 Report Posted October 5, 2018 Not really. Quartz is just man-made granite. In large pieces it is a little more flexible/durable. But once set in place the only difference is it being nonporous. However some granites are so dense they are also nonporous. None of this makes 2 rats butts in tooling or stamping though. One is just as good as the other. The thicker the better though. It will have slightly less bounce and a better sound insulation. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
