Hi All. I have seen both granite and quartz slabs for sale and was wondering what the differences, Pro's and cons. I have not used either one as I have a couple of old marble slabs from my dad that i use on top of a hard rubber mat. is one better than the other or better for certain things?   thank you.

Not really. Quartz is just man-made granite. In large pieces it is a little more flexible/durable. But once set in place the only difference is it being nonporous. However some granites are so dense they are also nonporous.

None of this makes 2 rats butts in tooling or stamping though.

One is just as good as the other. The thicker the better though. It will have slightly less bounce and a better sound insulation.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
