Mitsubishi (singer 211) lack of timing marks

Recommended Posts

I have a Mitsubishi Du 105 that I assume is a clone of a singer 211 series.

Generally it sews far better than I do, but it seems to require an enormously high top tension to center the knot with minimal bobbin tension on thin materials.

On thicker material (8 layers of cordura) it seems less critical.

I am not sure the thread take up(I think that's what its called) is setting the knot fully and would like to check the timing between it and the supposed marks on the lower main-shaft.

I can't find any marks, can I use some other position Indicator? like hook position the check timing? Or can someone familiar with this machine tell me where the marks are?

Thanks In Advance

I've attached the instruction manual, however this does not included service adjustments like hook timing.

send pics from different angles so we can see if it is bent.

thanks for getting back to me. After playing with the machine I think it is unlikely it is bent. Tried the same cordura and thread on my horizontal bobbin singer and it did a sightly better job.

I'm thinking I'm just asking too much with such a heavy thread and only two thin layers of fabric

I would still like to know how to time the belt and pulleys, though

Howdy all, I have a Chandler C-75 that I also believe is a clone (looks exactly like the Mitsubishi DU-105) and am having what I think are timing issues, it's just incredibly unreliable.

I am using 135x17 needles and was wondering if maybe that was the problem, the hook actually bends the needle as it rotates, nothing in the two 105 manuals I've found about timing and no way I can see to move the hook assembly like you would on a vertically oriented bobbin, incredibly frustrating!

Of course this is the first industrial machine I've owned and I've never had a more unreliable machine.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
