zig zag machine

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine just ordered one of these for a customer and turns out the customer needed something else that this machine doesnt do (zig zag). I guess they sell for like $1800 new with table/motor but the friend is willing to sell it to me for $1000-1100 because it will cost him at least $300-400 in shipping/restock fees to where he got it from.

I have only used my tippmann boss (or hand sewing) for most things, but am looking at both hard and soft pouches, bags, belts and many other things for stitching with it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Vince

Hi Vince,

Consew makes a good machine, however they are made in China now not Japan. Reliable machine up to 18oz or so, and more with adjustments, maybe up to 28-30 oz occasionally. Use a speed reducer and/or a servo motor for best results with leather. The $1000 is not a bad deal, $1100 if you really want it, but you might have to spend $150 on a reducer and another $150 on a servo motor if it doesn't have one.

I have a consew 206rb. I do not know what kind of leather you are looking to sew. I use it to sew chap leather. You will not be able to sew skirting leather. Other than that it has been a good machine for me. I bought mine off ebay a few years ago, brand new for I think 850.00. I did the set up on it. So I would say 1000 is a good price.
