Members JRock Posted April 7, 2019 Members Report Posted April 7, 2019 Just received my Andrew’s leather Monarch shoulder holster. I got the holster in natural leather and he doesn’t dye it, but uses neatsfoot oil and sun. I saw a YouTube video on how he makes it. How does he get it that dark? I have used neatsfoot oil and UV but can’t get it this dark. How can I achieve this look? Quote
bikermutt07 Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Looks like he started with drum dyed Chestnut, and then neatsfoot oil? I am only guessing though. Quote
NVLeatherWorx Posted April 9, 2019 Report Posted April 9, 2019 The specific model shown in the image was not done using NFO and UV alone, there is some coloring there as well. Even if he used an NFO Compound (which is full of chemicals and is darker in color even when applied) it still would not be that dark. The color of the holster shown is almost a Mahogany color. Quote
